I think the new dev team they hired were interns for a 2 man indie dev team with no prior experience in programming.hmmm, im shocked about this: "Currently adding this feature is hard" ....
I have lost all belief that the people who set the servers up have any skill at all. I think this bad server setup should be fixed more than anything in-game as its making it near impossible to implement anything. Otherwise we'll keep getting "its too hard".
What kind of server are they using that can't process this stuff?.......................
I thought I read before FFXIV is using the best server available on market when it was being developed... I remember reading it somewhere but now can't find it...
It's extremly odd that it would be hard to implement. It's just too bad not everyone wants to be scaning forums when they log-in to see if the LS is having any events going on.
That works too but you know some people can't multi-task...w
And with that comment you probably gonna get a comment I saw on JP forum - What about people playing the game in full screen mode! You want us to logout just to check the linkshell website/forum/lodestone LOL
Ok first off you can read LS chats from 8+ LS's at once. How would you have the /lsmes work in that system? Before each LS had its own chat room and had to switch LS's to see each chat. Which made it possible to have a notice when you "entered" that chat room.
Also people do rely more on sites then on the lsms in ffxi.
Again you gotta factor in the whole server. Its gotta hold everyones Lsms and presemt all of them on log in. I'm thinking they would need to revert to the old LS meaning you have to switch LS's to talk in them.
Think before you insult someone assuming they are clueless.

First of all, look at what I bolded. Second, your like level 3. Third, you have to switch LS to talk in them. Fourth, whatever active ls would be the one with the lsmes and whenever you switch that ls' lsmes would pop up. Fifth, your the idiot.Ok first off you can read LS chats from 8+ LS's at once. You can only have up to eight linkshells. Not more. The message would only trigger if you enter the linkshell.Ok first off you can read LS chats from 8+ LS's at once. Saying people rely on sites more is a sweeping generalization. I can link you to several active shells with inactive sites.
Messages at their largest are only a few kilobytes. 15 servers? 100 linkshells each? Not even close to anything significant.
You have done an excellent job of proving you're clueless.
This is not directed at you Reinheart but I thought I would quote this because it affects all players who currently play fullscreen or want to play fullscreen. That works too but you know some people can't multi-task...w

Although I've seen people adamant about not using workarounds to get around the failings of the game, I would like to recommend to anyone who wants to play fullscreen to play the game through Steam. The reasons for this is that it works with Steam overlay, meaning you can do things such as browse the internet, chat with friends over steam and even take screenshots using the new screenshot feature on Steam.
Since you can browse the internet using Steam overlay whilst ingame, you would then be able to check the lodestone.
If you play FFXIV fullscreen or are looking to play it fullscreen, there is almost no excuse to not get Steam. It takes only a couple of minutes to install, then another couple of minutes to register. After that it takes like 30 seconds to add the game's .exe file and then play the game.
I only wish that someone from SE would recommend to players that Steam is great for when you want to play fullscreen so that word about it would spread better but sadly I can't see this happening any time soon.
Here is the thing though you guys insulted me first and infact are also not funny thinking about whar I just said or reading it 1/2 way if at all. You can have all 8 LS chats open to you unlike in ffxi where you can only have 1 active. Though you need to switch to talk all chat rooms are vied at the same time. The message appears when you enter the room, in ffxi your already there. So if your already in the chat room, how would a message work? You simply can not expect or even consider the amount of programing that would entail. Also I meant to say ACTING LIKE
Sorry for the direct insult, but it is getting annoying that i'm insulted for my 2 cents. There is no need to call ppl idiots (myelf included) over differences in opions, or thought process. Just correct their errors not becomes a bully over stupid stuff.
here is the thing though... they still have sites active or not. I was just sharing my experience not trying to make a generalized statement. But fact is i've been in a decent amount of LS's/guilds/clans etc. everyone does infact seem to have a site. I'm actually trying to find one w/o one. I just want a LS to conversate, not really wanting a "high end" LS atm.You can only have up to eight linkshells. Not more. The message would only trigger if you enter the linkshell.
